Operating as a B2B platform provider in the online gambling industry means tackling a wide range of complex regulatory requirements. We spoke with Margarit Zalibekyan, Regulatory Compliance Officer, Digitain to understand how integrating Vixio’s Technical Compliance Tool into their compliance workflow has enabled a structured way for them to understand technical requirements, particularly around infrastructure and sportsbook operations, enabling them to support both internal teams and B2C operators more effectively.

“The gambling industry is highly dynamic, regulatory requirements are frequently updated, and new products are continually developed and introduced,” Zalibekyan explained.

The problem is exaggerated when working across multiple jurisdictions: “Being part of a multi-jurisdictionally licensed company with a wide range of products for partners in different markets, one of the biggest challenges is keeping pace with constant change,”  Zalibekyan explained.

This requires a considerable amount of work for compliance teams: “Our team needs to stay on top of things, understand their implications for both processes and products, and make sure updates are communicated internally while keeping policies and procedures aligned. It’s a significant volume of work.”

“Vixio has become part of my daily routine—almost like checking my inbox. The updates are incredibly useful for picking out the “right” piece of information we need to focus on. It’s actually quite common for our team to start the day discussing the latest news from the portal and sharing thoughts on how it might affect our work.”

Zalibekyan continued that the ability to compare jurisdictions and a simple user interface made it easy to implement: “What stands out most are the jurisdiction comparison tools and the timely, trustworthy updates. They save significant time and effort, allowing us to focus on applying the information rather than tracking it down. The tool’s clarity and ease of navigation make it easy to identify the key points quickly… helping the team make quicker, more confident decisions.”

Insights Used Across the Org, and in External Consultation

These insights don’t just support the decisions of the compliance team. The Vixio data is used across several functions, including the monitoring department, audit department, technical compliance team, and legal team.

The information is also used in external consultations: “When we do reach out to externals, the conversations are much more informed and focused, which makes those consultations far more valuable.”

Time Savings and Tangible Impact

While the team didn’t put a specific number on time savings, they saw improvements in the time it took to conduct the research process. In some cases, the tool saved up to ten or twenty per cent of their time conducting research to understand how individual markets are regulated.
